Enough rudeness!

The rudeness and grobkeit in the comments is really getting out of hand - especially in relation to the Gush Katif situation. I am happy to let everyone have their say on both sides but will delete any comments that are rude, abusive and/or offensive. Just take an extra few minutes and write something that is intelligent and coherent.

Please have some respect for yourself and others.

  1. Rabbi Hodakov wrote,

"When there is no milk for their children, parents will move heaven and earth to get it. And when a man is without an etrog he cannot give his mind to other things.
When one sees a house ablaze in the middle of the night, will he not rouse the occupants from their sleep and call out the fire brigade?
When we suspect someone could be a terrorist or see a suspicious object, do we not have to do what we can to avert a catastrophe?
This is the outlook we must develop, so that when we see the state of education around us we will be shocked and feel impelled to intervene in order to do what we can to help."

From the book "The Educator"s Handbook" based on the teachings of Rabbi Hodoakov, the closest of all the Rebbe's aides.

This applies to us in this city today.

  2. Dear AussieEcho, Of course I agree the rudeness should stop. But the reason is obvious - people can hide and stay anonymous! How do you explain your own role - this blogspot is a forum for all kinds of loshen hora, rechilus, false rumours and misquoting the Torah? As a "frum" Jew, why do you facilitate this evil? Although a tiny bit of good may also be there, but I think the bad outweighs it by far!

  3. One more quote for this evening from the late great Rabbi Hodakov:
"Chinuch must penetrate the innermost parts of the person,to the srpings of action. The mere imparting and receiving of knowledge are not enough--rather the material absorbed must manifest itself in pracitcal terms, in thought, speech, and action. The educator must aim to produce truth-seekers, people of action."

  5. Bravo! There is a way to facilitate change (STRONGLY) without resorting to the lowest common denominator! Lashon HaRa is not JUST gossip but the wording of ones statements to cause personal atttack. While I KNOW that many people have been severely attacked by the PTB...people reading and writing to this blog are the ones who must rise above to create a better life here.
