The Menorah Wars Continue
In two posts of July this year (here and here) I drew attention to Rabbi Yerachmiel Gorelik's mission to have a menorah displayed pubicly in Fort Collins, Colorado. The story hasn't ended and, according to The Coloradoan, a new Inter Faith Dialogue Group will be asking the City Council to reconsider this request. Although Rabbi Gorelik doesn't appear too hopeful the newspaper seems to be supporting this cause.
Hatzlocho Rabbo!

Rabbi Gorelik is still fighting

Rabbi Yerachmiel Gorelik is still fighting for the right to display a Chanukah menorah in Fort Collins, Colorado (see previous post here).
The Coloradoan pubished an article by Karen Schwartz defending the right to display the menorah on city property and pointing out the narrow mindedness of this town.

Aussie Fighting for Menorah Display
Rabbi Yerachmiel Gorelik, shaliach in Fort Collins, Colorado, has been trying to get a menorah displayed in that city since last Chanukah (see here). Despite having the mayor on his side, and a positive article in the Coloradoan reproduced in Shturem here, unfortunately the bid was unsuccessful (see here).
Rabbi Gorelik still has a lot of fight in him. The follow up post in Shturem here is a summary of the news report on ABC here.
I wish him hatzlocho rabbo in his mission.

Aussie in the News
Rabbi Yerachmiel Gorelik, center, talks with Colorado State University students Lyle Pakula, right, and Michael Foxman before the start of a community Passover Seder on Wednesday. Gorelik is director of the Chabad Jewish Center of Northern Colorado, and Foxman is president of the Chabad student organization on campus. The photograph was taken before sundown Wednesday, before Passover officially began. Gorelik said because taking photographs is considered work, it isn’t allowed during the Seder. (Emphasis is mine)
I originally saw this article about Yerachmiel Gorelik, who is now a shaliach in Colorado, on CrownHeights.info. The original news report appears in The Daily Reporter-Herald of Colorado here.
Yerachmiel is the son of Rabbi Elozor and Raizel Gorelik of FREE.
